Happy Spring?  It may be the first day of spring but it sure does not seem like it with the snow flurries in the air!!! Welcome to life in Cleveland, no wonder they say you gotta be tough.  Yesterday, before it snowed, I got the chance to hang out with my favorite people Rebecca and Olive.  If you are new to this game, Becca is my best friend, and I have been documenting her life as a mom from her first maternity shoot, Olive's first newborn shoot, and beyond.  Well, now we are beginning the process of documenting baby #2...which happens to be a BOY!  We snapped a few shots yesterday while playing in the park, so I thought I would share a few of my favorites.  Enjoy!

Summer is ending, but Clambakes are coming! It is no secret to anyone around Ohio that summer is coming to a close.  Matt and I have been working really hard this summer, and I personally feel like I have not had much of a summer.  We planned a trip for Maine for our 1 year anniversary in June, but upon looking at the price of the flights we decided that we could use the money elsewhere.  So for the last few weeks I have been trying to create my summer vacations right here in Ohio.  Last weekend we went out on our friend's boat and pretended that we were in the Atlantic ocean, and it was incredible!  The boat ride inspired me to bring Maine or Alaska more like, to us.  I have been watching a lot of Deadliest Catch and crab legs have been on my mind.  So tonight after working at the studio all day, I decided to do a clambake, or a shrimp boil, or a crab boil, for dinner.  IT WAS AMAZING, so naturally I got my camera out and had some fun!!!!!!

You know the claw is the best part of the crab legs...

We had crab legs, shrimp, clams, mussels, corn, and tiny potatoes...not to mention a delicious frosty beverage. :)

And then I got hungry...and though we could use a shot of the post deliciousness...

Insert clean up crew after photo favorite friends :)  Hope you enjoyed having dinner with us!

Fairprt Harbor, Cleveland Ohio As many of you know, I love Cleveland.  Cleveland has so many things going for it, especially when the weather is nice and warm.  Lately I have been worried that summer is coming to a close, and I am trying to take advantage of the sites of the city as much as possible.  I have been craving a little adventure, so Matt and I have been spending a lot of time in the Cleveland Metroparks, hiking with our dog Samantha, and taking photos along the way.  Yesterday we checked out Fairport Harbor beach.  It has been years since I have been to this part of the Metroparks, and I was determined to get a cool picture of the light house.  While Matt and I were exploring we witnessed some incredibly talented wave runners doing tricks too, and it turns out they are friends of a family friend of mine.  Big city...small world.  We had an incredible day exploring and I think we got some fun shots, and thought I would share them with you.  Enjoy!

Friscone Wedding I have to start this post saying that I typically don't do wedding photography...although I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy taking these photos.  This set of photos holds a very special spot in my heart, since they are the wedding photos from my sister in laws wedding.  Lauren and Mike got married at Medina square, and followed that up with a reception at Rustic Hills Country Club.  Lauren asked me if I would do her photography, and naturally I said yes!

The day started with mimosas at the house, followed by an incredible ceremony joining the families together, and ending with an entire evening of dancing the night away.  I had an incredible time taking the photos, as well as celebrating the new chapter in the ever growing family that we have.

Here are a few of my favorite photos from the day...

Turkey Legs fit for a King...or a Queen! This morning I woke up to a winter wonderland!  The first snow of the year always gets me excited, it is absolutely beautiful and it puts me in the mood for the holidays.  Maybe cookies are going to be the next blog post who knows...

Before my life turned into a winter wonderland, I was thinking all about turkey, and the upcoming Thanksgiving.  Let me explain something to you about me and Thanksgiving, we have a little..just kidding it is a LARGE love affair.  I have been cooking Thanksgiving for my family and extended family, and now in laws for years.  My biggest group was 35 people one year, that is why I like to think of myself as the Queen of Thanksgiving.  Well, this year I have asked to have the year off, and to be honest as the day is approaching I am stressing out.  I am feeling the void, and clearly filling the void with cooking at my house.  So when I was at the store yesterday humming along to the christmas music I saw the turkey legs and a warmth filled my heart.  I knew they had to come home with me and be my center of attention.

Once I got home I started thinking about what I was doing and saying... "just the legs, that is very barbaric"...I feel like I am in the medieval times!  That is when I went for the old un polished silver platters and my grandma's old lace table cloth.  These turkey legs are going to be fit for a King...and by that I mean a Queen.

If you are curious how I cooked the turkey legs it was very simple, a few carrots and celery in the bottom of the pan with a spice rub on the legs and we were good to go.  Start with pre heating your oven to 350*, your turkey legs are going to cook for 1.5 hours.

Spice Rub:

  • 1tsp Salt
  • 1sp Pepper
  • 1tsp Paprika
  • 1tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Poultry Seasoning
  • 2T Olive Oil
  •  Measure out all spices, and drizzle in Olive oil, rub mixture all over turkey legs

Once you have finished rubbing the delicious spice rub all over your turkey legs it is time to chop up some carrots, celery and onion to put in the bottom of your roasting pan.  This will help with making your gravy and adds a lot of delicious flavors. Sprinkle your delicious and gorgeous mise en plase with some salt and pepper to give it a little love.  I also added about 1 cup of vegetable stock to the bottom of the pan to add moisture, and help with basting.

Yum! Celery has never looked so delicious! In to the oven we go!  It was weird, I was feeling very barbaric in the beginning, and once I put the turkey legs over the carrots, and celery, all of a sudden I thought these legs looked amazing!  Even Matt liked the raw image of the legs more...very weird.

Seriously...did i just make raw turkey look sexy? Anyways, I covered my roasting pan with some tin foil and put the whole sha bang in the oven for about 60 minutes.  After 60 minutes I took the tin foil off and roasted the turkey legs for another 30 minutes to give it a nice crispy skin.

And Voila...turkey legs fit for a Queen!

Need some equipment?

if you don't have a good roasting pan, I HIGHLY recommend you getting one that will last you through the holidays!  I LOVE has saved me so much time and effort.  And if you are in a rush and don't want to make your own spice mix you can use this one that I found and it is delicious!

Sweet Potato Turkey Shepherds Pie Today was the first day of the year that we have snow flakes falling!  Most people are not excited about it, but I love the change in seasons, and the food that comes with it.  In my house we have been on a mission of comfort food!  Thanksgiving is around the corner, and I have turkey on the brain.  With my Irish heritage, Shepherd's Pie is near and dear to my heart, but that doesn't mean that I can't give it a little twist.  As I have mentioned before, my husband is experimenting with the Paleo diet, and it seems to be working.  I personally think it is him not eating the snacks at work that is helping his weight...but what do I know.  Either way, I wanted to make shepherd's pie, but needed to change the topping to abide by the diet, so I swapped in sweet potatoes and used ground turkey instead of beef, and it was delicious!  So here are some pictures I took of the meal, along with the recipe.

Turkey Shepherd's Pie

Yields: 6 servings  Oven: 350*

1 lb Ground Turkey

1 Medium Onion. Diced

3 Stalks Celery . Diced

3 Carrots. Diced

1 sm. container mushrooms. Sliced

3 cloves Garlic. Diced

1 tsp Cumin

1 tsp Thyme. Dried

1/2 bag frozen peas

2 T Flour

1 cup Vegetable Stock

4 Sweet Potatoes. Peeled, Diced and Boiled

2 T Butter

1 Cup Almond Milk

Salt and Pepper

Preheat oven to 350*.  Peel potatoes, dice and boil until fork tender.  Return potatoes to pot, mash with butter, almond milk, and salt and pepper, set aside.  Coat large saute pan with olive oil, and heat for a few minutes.  When oil is warm add ground turkey and saute for 10 minutes, or until no longer pink.  Add your onion, celery, and carrots and saute for 5 minutes.  After onions are translucent, add mushrooms, peas and garlic, salt, pepper, thyme, and cumin and saute for 2 minutes longer.  When vegetables are soft and tender add flour to pan and stir.  Once vegetables are coated with flour add vegetable stock and let sauce thicken, simmering for 5 minutes, while stirring.

Once you have the base completed as well as the potatoes it is time to assemble the dish.  Add turkey vegetable mixture to a 9x12" casserole dish, spoon sweet potatoes on top and spread out.  Put casserole in pre heated oven and bake for 15 minutes or until casserole is bubbling.

Eat. and enjoy!

Paleo Fruity Nut Bars Today's blog post comes from a gloomy sleepy land of Cleveland.  I didn't mean to do a photo shoot today but it kinda happened, and the textures and colors are fun.  Lately my husband has been experimenting with a Paleo diet and I have been attempting to be a good wife and make him snacks and dinners that abide by the Paleo rules.  In a nut shell the diet consists of ... meat, veggies, nuts, fruits, and some fats like avocados. It  tries the emulate something like a caveman diet, blah blah blah.

In my never ending real house wife of Chagrin Falls duties I began to make these fruity nut bars for Matt to take to work.  The variety of nuts and dried fruits that I threw together inspired me to grab my camera and take some shots.  I didn't have the energy today to set up a big set in the kitchen, so I did natural light today.  I am also using my new mirrorless Sony A6000 camera which I think I have decided is not the best when it comes to my food photography, but perhaps for other images.

So needless to say these images came out a bit more rustic, and I think it is appealing considering the caveman style of eating we are doing these days.  And I am not going to lie, these bars are friggin delicious, I have outdone myself if I may say so myself.

Check it out...

I used pumpkin seeds, peanuts, almonds, dried cranberries and dried strawberries.  Very fall inspired...and delicious.

After a fabulous dosing of eggs, pumpkin pie spice, and honey onto the sheet pan, and into the oven they go!

Yay!  Paleo Fruity Nut Bars!

Spice Farm Warming This past weekend, I had the privelage of attending the Spice Acres Farm Warming party to take pictures.  I have been following Chef Ben's career for many years, and his newest adventure is absolutely incredible!  He has purchased a farm in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and will be producing meat and produce for Spice Restaurant, as well as Spice Catering company, literally bringing the farm to the table.  This past weekend, the farm warming party was very special because it helped raise money for the farm as well as raise awareness of the endeaver.

The party was set up in many different sections throughout the multi acres of the property.  They had bars set up in hoop houses, mixed in the pine tree forest, and dinner was a cozy family style dinner in the barn and a fabulous tent.  Every direction you turned there was someone enjoying a delicious cocktail that was provided by OYO, munching on some kettle corn, or listening to relaxing music surrounded by happy friends.  The weather challenged us with a little bit with some rain, but it did not put a damper on any of the festivities.  The evening ended with smores and a bonfire, and many happy friends enjoying what is going to be a very successful farm.

I took some fun pictures I hope you enjoy!

Caramel Apple At Tiffany O'Neill Photography, there is one employee, one producer, one assistant, one food stylist, and one photographer....and all those people are me!  I woke up at 6:30 am today, and there was something in my belly telling me I needed to take some pictures.  I knew that I wanted to do a fall theme photo shoot, I originally thought about pumpkin pie but little did I know what it was going to turn into.  I went to the store, and walked right into my photo shoot of caramel apples.  I found a coupon telling me to buy caramels, and they would give me $1.00 off apples, done and done...caramel apples it is ( I love coupons).  Needless to say, this "quick" photo turned into quite the production that took me 10 hours from start to finish...literally.  Here are some of the photos that I took along the get the final shot.

My discounted apples.. $1.00 off! ( I love coupons)

You can't have caramel apples guessed it CARAMEL! If you look closely, this is really a self portrait.

My final set up...all of that work and stuff you will barely see in the final image.  Yes that is my living room/kitchen... I work from home.

And now...the image that came from all of this...

Chagrin FALLs Ohio It is a beautiful Saturday morning, the sun is shining through the different colored fall maple leaves, and I love it.  I recently posted a picture that I took in my hometown Chagrin Falls, and it has been getting a lot of attention, so I thought I would do a small blog post on that day.  I merely was bored last week, and I wanted to take some pictures so I went for a drive and stumbled upon some beautiful fall foliage.  My home town, Chagrin Falls is surrounded by parks, barns, and amazing nature.  It lends to some great views in fall, and I am having a great time taking pictures.  So I thought I would share some of the more artistic images that I have taken, out and around Chagrin Falls.

Cathy and Lulu, a walk to remember I recently drove down to Medina to Pleasant View Farm  for a photo shoot with a friend, and her horse.  Cathy and I met YEARS ago, when we used to ride our horses at the same barn in Chagrin Falls.  When I was a kid, all I wanted to do was play with horses, I spent every waking hour I could at the barn, and yesterday brought me right back to that happy place.  Cathy got Lulu a little over a year ago from the race track, and she has been working to rehabilitate him, and get him nice and healthy.  I would have to say she did a fantastic job so far, and they have clearly formed a bond that I was lucky enough to document.  We had an incredible time walking through the lush 30 acres surrounding the barn on a beautiful warm fall day.

Here are some of my favorite images that I captured.

Countryside Conservancy Farmers Market Lately I have been driving my husband crazy talking about buying a house with some land, getting chickens, and having a small farmette.  Matt is not a big fan of the idea because he knows he is going to be stuck mowing the lawn, which cuts into his football and golf needless to say he said "NO".  I don't take no very easily, that is why I have been exploring the farming communities in Ohio, which leads me to this blog post.  I wanted to take pictures, and help out at a farmers market, so I reached out the Countryside Conservancy Farmers Market.  Countryside Conservancy helps support local farms in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, and provides education and events to help them succeed.  I offered to volunteer my time, and take some pictures, and they happily accepted my offer.

So last Saturday, I woke up before the sun had risen, got in my car and drove down to Peninsula, for the farmers market.  I have been to many farmers markets before, but this one was different, this one is in the middle of Cuyahoga Valley National Park.  I had to cross a train track that lead me toward a barn, that opens up to a big field where all the vendors were already setting up.  I couldn't wait to jump in, talk to the farmers and chat about my ideas of having my chickens in my backyard.  The farmers market had an incredible variety of vendors, a squash tasting tent, and a food demo by Chef Ben Bebenroth, who is in the process of raising money for his farm to support his restaurant Spice.  Check out his kick starter campaign HERE.

I had a great time taking pictures for Countryside, and I hope you enjoy...

So now I want a farm even more, and my poor husband is going to have to listen to me talk about for a bit longer.  If you like my images, and would like to use them, or purchase them or just chat feel free to contact me at

Riviera Maya, Mexico If  you have noticed I have been a bit absent on the blog lately, that is because I went on my honeymoon to Riviera Maya!  Matt and I decided to turn off our phones, and not even bring a laptop on our trip and it was the best decision we have ever made!  Riviera Maya is a photographer's dream, I was overwhelmed to the point I didn't even know what to take a picture of first.  After a few days of soaking it all in, I dove into my camera and got some great fun images.  I am not going to bore you with all of my honeymoon pictures, just the ones that I thought turned out a bit more unique.

Ok...let's go to Mexico.. ARRIBA!

Selfie central here...just wanted to show you that I am a real person, and not a computer...oh and that is Matt, my hubby...

This is a restaurant we ate lunch at after snorkeling in the Cenotas (Mayan caves), and it was GLORIOUS!

The pier at our resort...ummm yes please!

A beautiful sunrise that never gets old.

Speaking of never getting old, the beaches and blue water, that never gets old either...this was the view from our lunch table.

Another beautiful Sunrise...

This is on top of the Mayan Ruins TULUM, and I was experimenting with a new artzy fartzy lens I bought for the trip.

Under water in a Cenotae, they are Mayan caves that you can swim in with crystal blue waters.  We even swam into a bat was surreal!

Rocks under water...literally the color of the reflection of the sun with the water.

Another artistic experiment at the Mayan ruins Tulum.

Hello Mr. Palm Tree right before a mini hurricane.

And another sunset.  I had an amazing time, and now want to be a travel photographer, just traveling all over the world.  I suppose I need to conquer my fear of flying.

Artzy Fartzy on Etsy This past weekend, I was channeling my artzy fartzy side, and I had a great time!  A major part of Tiffany O'Neill Photography is me exploring different forms of presenting my photography, and exploring my art.  While I love the commercial work I get, I actually really really love my artistic work that I get.

On Saturday I woke up with an fire in my belly and a desire to find reclaimed wood...for FREE.  So I got in my car and got lost in burton, middle field, and many other towns with Amish people and corn.  I didn't find any reclaimed wood, but I did enjoy a few hours of driving and exploration.  I got back to Chagrin Falls, went to the post office, and BOOM...Reclaimed wood, just sitting waiting for me to take it!  I didn't steal it, I found the rightful owner, and she had just replaced her garage doors, and didn't want the wood anymore.  So in my car they went...with some help from my dad, because no matter how old you get, you still need your dad's help some times :)

I got home and decided that these were going to be my new art project...tables, art, key hooks...the list was swirling in my head.  So I started cutting, sanding, adding chemicals and experimenting with the "rustic vintage" look.  It didn't take much because these were already pretty old.  I made two pieces this weekend, and I think they are pretty neat.

I added some of my Cleveland images to them, and now they are a useable piece of art.  I have listed them on Etsy, yes I have an Esty shop here:  TIFFANYONEILLPHOTO
